The Green Maple remodel remains one of our most amazing transformations to date! The trick was utilizing the oversized backyard on the property to build some breathing room into the main floor.

Before our work began, the corner kitchen felt fairly cramped and separated from the box-like living room: definitely not the spacious, open concept main floor this home deserved. We gutted it down to the studs and removed the load bearing wall that ran through the centre of the main floor by replacing it with a steel beam.

To create even more space, we vaulted the ceiling – that let us build a large back porch with sliding doors that followed the roof line. From there, we updated HVAC, installed custom cabinetry and countertops, laid down new flooring and integrated fresh lighting, appliances, and windows.

The homeowners are thrilled with the transformation, and they’re going to be very, very happy at Green Maple for a long time.

I met with Steve from SteveBuilt after doing some research online. After meeting with Steve and discussing what I wanted to do, I went ahead and booked in my project. Although my house is small, I still wanted attention to detail and quality work. We had a great experience with SteveBuilt. Steve and his crew, (Dave and Rob were our main on site carpenters ) were great, very professional and paid attention to daily details of the job. The guys kept the jobsite as clean as possible, which was imperative with 3 dogs coming home each night. We remodeled our main floor, took down a load bearing wall to open things up, installed a beautiful new kitchen, installed new flooring throughout and added a new welcoming front porch to the house. We are very satisfied with the project that Steve completed at our house. The addition of a patio and overhead permanent roof was perfectly designed to match the existing architecture of our home.
